This interactive project will have students working with LEGO Technic® and LEGO Power Functions® electronics to build a mechanism that pulls a strip of paper between multiple gears to “crimp” the paper. It’s a great example of how technology and art can come together!
Students will gain practice with fine-motor skills necessary for LEGO building as well as receive an introduction to the use of a DC motor. Using a combination of gears and belts, students will explore how the energy from the motor is transferred to the “crimping” gears on the build & to pull the paper through. Once their projects are complete, students will be given the opportunity to play & experiment with their Paper Crimpers with provided strips of paper.
